Florianopolis has 2-3 good locations to kite surf – Daniela Beach, Lagoa da Conceição and more. There are plenty of incredible nature hikes there by the coast. Season lasts from July to December. Florianopolis is far less known as a kitesurfing destination than the kite spots Cumbuco or Jericoacoara in northern Brazil, although the wind conditions are similarly excellent. However, there are clear differences in terms of climate. While it's pure sunshine in the north, it can get a little chilly around Florianopolis and the island of Santa Catarina due to cold fronts coming up. The wind is mainly dependent on the high and low pressure areas of the region. 4 days of northeast wind are followed by 2 days of southeast wind. After a rest day, the cycle usually starts all over again, reaching wind speeds of up to 30 knots. From October, the thermal north-easterly wind dominates.

A great spot for kitesurfing with a picturesque landscape. I enjoy not only the pleasant beach but also the view around. The best seasons for the place are autumn and spring. The best hours for kitesurfing are from 9 to 12 a.m. as there're just less people around. There are also charming meal places like Koxixos nearby. If you're looking for accommodation, I'd recommend renting a flat nearby as it's the best option I see. There's also a hospital nearby if you'd need help.
